My New Protective Style...

This is my new protective style. Deep Wavy Micro's. I will wear this style from October 2007 until February 2008. These were braided at the African Shop in Birmingham, Alabama on October 18 2007.
Yeah I know that's a long time to keep them in but that's when I can return to the states. I hope to be alot thicker and APL when I finally take these out. Also February is the next time I will relax. I am not sure if I wanna texlax or get it done in a salon. I dunno but we will see.

  1. nice braids
that is a long time to keep them in, just make sure you moisturize your scalp from time to time, my friend kept her extensions in from june to october when she took it out she had really bad damaged dry hair and some bald spots.

  2. Oh yeah I moisturize and seal every night. I was baggying but that messes up my clothes alot because the ends are damp. Dang I am sorry for your friend. Did she so anything to her hair while she had them in? I wondered did the dryness cause that? Hey I really appreciate you posting this info! I am off to check out ya blog! :)

  3. I don't think so, maybe that's why she had all that damage. Sad thing is, as soon as she took off the weave, she put another one in, and she relaxed her hair.

  4. I am sure you know well enough on how to care for your hair during this 'resting' period. If all is well I am pretty sure you will reach your hair goals when it is time to take them down. Just make sure you have that braid-undoer-thingamajigger you posted about some time ago, a detangling solution, and a trusty denman brush on hand to remove all the shhdded hair that would indeed otherwise cause matting and tangles.

I have no experience with extension braids but I offer advice given on what I would do which is based, for me, on common sense. Good luck!

  7. Hi,

Nice blog. I'm learning a lot from you.

I love these braids. What brand of extension hair did you use?

    Was it human hair?

How has it held up? Any tangling/shedding?

    Lots of questions :-)
    TIA
