The Point Where Natural Hair Meets Relaxed Hair...See My Line Of Demarcation

The pictures above show the point or section where the strand of hair transitions between the natural hair and relaxed hair. This is what your hair looks like when you decided to stretch your relaxer. This part is prone to breakage if not cared for properly. Treat that section like silk! If you wear braids that are not braided all the way down your hair shaft and you know that section is exposed then make SURE you do not stress that area by placing the pony tail holder on it.

Products I Have Been Using....

It seems like my new growth is getting alot thicker since I faithfully started using the Shikaki bar, the Vatika Oil and some of the other Indian products . I also think my hair texture is changing or getting alot softer. But before I get all excited and start thinking that my natural hair texture is : "gud hur" I will just wait until I take out these braids to see the real deal. Products that I didn't have pictures for are: Vatika Frosting, ORS Replenishing Conditioner and a small bottle of Grandma's Honey.

A Method 4 Split Ends...

I've never tried this but I read this on a site and it SOUNDS good:

To get rid of split ends, take a small section of your hair and carefully twist it gently in a downward motion. When you do this, the split ends will automatically stick out. Carefully snip into the twist with sharp scissors. Carefully remove the split ends; this will give your hair a natural layered effect. Try to cut about the same amount of hair. Cutting your hair is the best way of getting rid of split ends. It is the simplest and least expensive method to remove split ends.

The Braids From Hell....Part 2

I am loving my texture right here. You can see I took down alot of braids in the front.
Yeah ladies...Go ahead laugh if you want! :)
... I am still hanging on to them and I continue to keep my hat glued to my head. I won't even let my boyfriend see it! I have been taking out braids left and right. These pictures were taken yesterday.

Flashback!

Do you remember the big ole dookie braids? Remember Janet braids in Poetic Justice? Remember how great Brandy braids used to look until she wore them out AND her edges? Now she's covering it up with her own brand wig. :) Well I wish those braids would come back in style. Shoooooot I am tired of sitting up in that chair for 8 plus hours trying to get some micro's.

THE DEBRAIDING TOOL

This little tool looks complicated but it does the job ALOT better than the "unbraider." Its simple and easy and your arm will not get tired from holding it. I recently used this to take down a couple of braids. It's has a sharp point (but not so sharp where it will cause damge) that allows it to glide right through those knots at the ends of micros. This lil thing is all worth $3.00! I forgot the orginal site I ordered it from but I was able to find it at this site: New Jersey Black Owned Beauty Supply Store

Review: Shikakai Hair Soap

So today I washed my braids with the Shikakai Hair Soap to see what all the hype was about. The Soap did not smell bad at all but it didn't smell great either. Before I used it I made sure to pre-poo my braids with coconut, vatika and some other hesh castor oil so it wouldn't come out hard. The soap lathered up really good and made my new growth really soft. After my hair dried it looked and felt very moisturized. My hair didn't feel like it was stripped afterwards. I would prefer this instead of any other shampoo besides Creme of Nature. I will try to alternate the two.

New Growth!

All of that is my natural hair! I am so proud of it. I am really debating on getting a relaxer.
I know I need to take these braids out but my situation doesn't allow it now so I will keep rocking hats.

Moisture!

I gotta step up on my game and moisturize my hair like I am supposed to!

Hair Veda!

So I broke down and decided to order some products from BJ on BHM to see what the hype was about. All I can say is WOW! I feel like a clown for not hoping on that bandwagon a long time ago. Lets see I ordered the Vatika Frosting on 29 April and I got it today 05 May (Iraq Local time)!! That's some speedy shipping. So once I opened the vatika frosting I am in awe. Believe me when I say this........ that stuff is the bomb! Temptation of not sticking my finger in that jar and tasting it was a hassle. That stuff is yummie!!! This lady knew that what she was doing! She made sure she included on the jar that it was non edible. LOL!I cant wait to use it when I get off work. BJ girl thanks for making this product! I went back to the site and ordered 2 more! Ya'll can check out her site at: http://www.hairveda.net/. The prices are cheap and not over priced!

Hot Hair!

I know this has nothing to do with braids but I really like this look on Mary. She's rocking it better than Victoria B.
