Recovering From My Unwanted Trim!

I think I have recovered from my trim...you the know the one where the scissor happy stylist decided to cut alot of my new growth off. In case you didn't read that post. In this first picture it looks like I am back to where I started in Dec. The top is unstretched and the bottom is stretch. I assume that is what it will look like when I relax again.

Where Does Indian Hair Come From?

Indian Hair - Where Does It Come From?

I was watching Oprah last night and they were talking about Indian weave hair and where it comes from. The majority of the Remy hair is collected from Indian Temples. Women tonsure their hair as an offering to GOD. They showed a clip of where Indian women bow before barbers to cut there hair off so that they can offer their hair to the GODS. In turn the barbers get it weaved and auction the hair off to distributors. 81 million is made a YEAR off the hair. Then they also showed where 20 women in a village take the dead hair from their brushes and put it all together to sell. That’s crazy.

WHO ARE SOME OF THE CELEBS THAT WEAR INDIAN HAIR?
Well besides the very popular wearer Beyonce, Ciara, Halle Berry, Naomi Campbell, Kelly Rowland& many many more.

WHY IS INDIAN HAIR SO POPULAR?
Indian hair is highly regarded in the hair industry because of its flexibility, durability, and texture. Indian hair is naturally thick and lustrous, so it gives best possible styling and installation options for extensions. The hair is also naturally dark, so it works great with most braiding and weaving applications for us women of color.

WHAT IS REMY CUTICLE HAIR?
Human hair collected directly from a hair donor is Remy hair. It is also known as: cuticle hair, virgin Hair or cut Hair. Most hair sold in the hair industry is not Remy hair, but rather bleaching or acid-baths have been used to strip the cuticles. Remy hair also goes through an additional special process comparable to those of processing cashmere, which ultimately allow better preservation of the hair cuticles. This creates stronger, fuller-bodied, durable Remy hair pieces. It is also spelled: Remi hair.

WHAT IS VIRGIN HAIR?
Virgin hair 100% natural and free of chemicals, so there is no damage to the cuticles. The cuticles are the protector of the hair so it is important that they are intact. Our hair is hand selected to be soft and beautiful, a lot of care is taken so that all of the cuticles run in the same direction to prevent tangling, all of are virgin hair is Remy. The result is soft luxurious long lasting hair with lots of body. You will be more than satisfied with this hair.

B4G Joins a Challenge....

Yup, I guess I can try to commit to something! Today I joined the Hairlista Castor Oil Challenge.

I think it began on 07 Feb and ends in April. I think the rules are to use it twice a week on the scalp, so that is cool for me. I think I can hang. I tried some today and it felt good. I had some JBCO but I left it in my ex's work truck. So you know that's a lost cost! I was inspired to do this after watching her new moisturizing and sealing video. Thanks girl!

My New Hairstyle...

Well I wear the same style everyday and I was tired of the stupid swoop that covered my forehead so I went searching on YouTube and was inspired. The front is supposed to kind of zig-zag. In this picture its not "all that" but with a lil practice it will get better. Hey at least its another way to covers my forehead so I'm happy.

How I Deep Condition My Braids?

This is in response to a comment: "How Do You Deep Condition with Braids?"

1. I shampoo braids in the shower
2. Apply Aphogee 2 minute to hair and cover braids with shower cap, take my shower for about 10 minutes
3. Rinse Aphogee out
4. Apply ORS Replenishing Con to braids and roots, seal with coconut and olive oil, cover with a shower cap and two satin bonnets and go to sleep.
5. Wake up in the morning, take another shower and rinse the conditioner out.

Its really easy. I treat my braids the same way I do my hair when its not in braids. Free Smiley Face

80% Dry After Deep Condition

Here's a picture of my braids after I deep conditioned last night. In this picture it is about 80% dry. I have had these braids in since late Dec and they still look good minus the lil new growth I got.

Deep Conditioning AGAIN...

I am on a mission to find the best way to deep condition my hair. Lately I have been applying the deep conditioner (ORS) on dry hair and either sleeping in it or letting it sit for a couple of hours. I have began to rethink this because i know my hair has alot of dirt in it from this sand. So is that a good idea? Nawww I dont think so. Maybe if I was in the states. So the other night I washed with Shampoo and deep conditioned but instead of washing the conditioner out I slept with it and washed it out in the morning. I figured that would be better since I take a shower at night and in the morning anyways. The results: Moisturized, soft braids! So I think this method is a keeper.
