Trying 2 Find A New Hairstyle - Lacefront

2night I was bored and I tried to do a new hairstyle with my lacefront because I am tired of it hanging. Here are some pic's. Of course you can see the style hasnt been perfected but I am posting these pics to show you swoop thing I got going on.

This is a Human Hair Lacefront and it is BEYOND pretty from the hairline to the wefts in the back! This LF wig is HOT! The price was not HOT, lol...but it was worth it....I hope. I cant wait to rock her. The yaki texture is so beautiful. It looks like relaxed 4a/b hair. I cant rock her right now because I am wearing that obvious brown Model Model wig. I already know if I switch it up people at my job will talk trash.

I'm skeptical about rocking this BONE str8 LF. She is pretty and I think the color is a good match for my skin but the hair is like 50 miles LONG! I just dont like all that long flowing hair if it isn't mine. I'll rather stick with 14-16 inches, lol.

This lacewig fits very snug and there is no need for glue. Well I don't use glue anyway. It has two combs only in the front and an adjustable strap in the back.

So what do yall think? Yah or Nah??

Revisited - My Hair Set Back

So today I decided to NOT work (lol) and look at my old hair pictures to determine a couple of things. I already knew the hair stylist chopped off a lot of my hair but looking back at my Aug 2009 pic it made be hotter than a 45! LOL. I could probably be grazing Bra Strap Length if I would have STOPPED going to that hair stylist. Damn, now I am not even touching APL. L But on the bright side my ends are on point in the second picture.

Well for the year 2010 I declare NO more going to the salon to get my hair relaxed and my ends clipped. Watch in 2011 I be suffering from alopecia, LOL!

Nu-Gro Hair Products

Okay so I went out and purchased some Nu Gro Products. I actually ordered the Winter Essentials Basket for $45.99 and the Hair GRO Spray (Oil Free). Ya’ll I don’t know about these products. The labeling and website just doesn’t look right. After hearing some negative reviews I was skeptical about using the products. I noticed that the Moisturizer and the Hair Growth spray have darn near the SAME Ingredients. They have the same ingredients except one has Isopropyl Alcohol and the other has Glycerin

Hair-GRO Spray - Oil-Free

Ingredients: Water, Isopropyl Alcohol, Parsley, Garlic, Nettle, Burdock, Horsetail Coltsfoot, Rosemary Leaf, Jojoba Oil, Olive Oil, Safflower Oil, Castor Oil, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Fragrance, Paba Panthenol (B-5), Vitamin E and D, Aloe Vera.

A little disappointed I didn’t bother to try the products for about 4 days. One day I was like what the hell, I paid my money so I decided to try the moisturizing spray on my Ghana Cornrow Braids………..let me tell you that moisturizer is NO JOKE! After it dried, my hair felt very moisturized and had a shine to it! While I was spraying it on my scalp/ roots I was thinking oh this is NOT going to work because it had a watery feeling and was dripping like Jerry Curl stuff…..but that stuff works! Well at least it did for me. Tonight I am going to try the Shampoo, Conditioner and Deep Conditioner and I will post the results later.

Trying the Baggy Method Again...

Well since I am not wearing micro's I decided to give the baggy method a try on the ends of my cornrows. I used cling free saran wrap and a ouchless scrunchy. I will attempt to wear this under my lacefront with my black wave cap underneath.

Since I dont have braids and my ends are hidden from the harsh weather I really think I will be able to retain alot more length than I did with the micros. I believe baggying my ends will help me do just that!

I dont seem to have a problem getting the hair to grow from my scalp but retaining it after the mico's was an issue. Like I said before, micros were not really a protective style because my ends were exposed. This allowed them to brush up against my clothes and split or tear. Let's hope this method works and that I am doing the right thing...:)

Mini Makeover by Linda Scott!

Soooo, I'm still in Baghdad and I am just running into errrrbody. First I ran into Joy, an old military buddy. She introduced me to Coastal Scent Makeup and I am feeling it! I will post a update on that later. But yesterday I ran into this lady who I used to work with and I call her my auntie cause she gives the best advice yall. She should seriously be some kind of advisor. Anyway when it comes to eyebrows she's GOT IT. Girl she will hook you up in 5.6 seconds flat with a razor! She is no joke. Well I let her get a hold of my thick em's and she laid them! She even showed me a few tricks and she applied the makeup in the second pic and the bottom pic. It came out great! The 1st pic is how I looked earlier, lol. Thanks Linda! Love ya!

Trying 2 Keep This LF from Tangling / Falling Under This Kevlar

I know it looks like a flyaway mess but it was windy and I had on my Kevlar because I thought I was flying out of Baghdad today back to my site but the flight was cancelled. Anyway I decided to put my LF into 2 braids to keep it from tangling and to lessen it changes of getting snagged off from that blue heavy bullet proof vest! You best 2 believe I have her bobby pinned to death because I don't care for glue or tape.

OMG, they think it's my hair!

Today I finally left Dubai and I am in Baghdad now. But in my transit here I must have HAD ...no lie at least 5 people say something about my lacefront. One Indian guy was like your hair is gorgeous and another was like your hair is very strong. One Dubai lady made me give her the web site! Imagine that! Another guy was like are you Hispanic and one guy was like your hair is so long and pretty. That was all today, not to mention yesterday when I went to the mall....and lets not 4get about the African Lady! It may sound like I am bragging....hell maybe I am. I am proud of myself for cutting the baby hair correctly and fake bleaching the knots, lol! I gotta admit it's kinda upsetting how much guys LOVEEEEE long wavy hair on women and how much MORE attention you get when your hair is long. But its cool. I am loving my lacefronts and my own hair and I am just glad that I was finally able to step away from braids. I can take this lace front off at night and sleep comfortably. :) Below is a picture. I look ruff cause I went to sleep at 5 yesterday and was wide awake by 9 and now its ANOTHER day at 12 noon and I havent been back to sleep because I had a 2am roll call for the flight so Im sleepy as hell. So Oh I 4got to mention she is a color 2.

Ghana Braids

Remember I was telling yall about the African lady I met in the mall? Well I got my hair braided today and it came out REALLY nice but I discovered I have a serious peanut head.
She said these micros are called Ghana braids. She used a couple of strands of braiding hair to add the braids. Not to the length but to make it look fuller. Her hands were soft and they were not digging into my skin so that was a plus. She came to my hotel and charged 200 Dirhmans. Thats $54 US.

My Bobbi Brown Makeup Haul in Dubai

So I am still stuck in Dubai....:( It's cool cause I am NOT ready to go back to work but its gets boring quick and the only thing to do is shop and eat. :( Well today I went on a Bobbi Brown Makeup Haul because I never tried it. I had the lady try some stuff on me and I actually liked it! I think I like it better than MAC...I know....ahhhh hell naw! :) To get details on the actual names of the products listed below...view my YouTube Channel in about 2 hours. The internet connection is madd slow and its 0413 in the morning here so I am about to lay it down and hope the video uploads. This is the look she gave me. It's a neutral look and I like it! Oh I am trying on my other Bianca Lace wig / color 2 in this pic. I have not fake bleached the knots yet or cut some baby hairs. See my YouTube 2 see what happened to the "black Bianca" LF ...lol.

Overnight Conditioning with Dabur Alma Oil / Baggying

I am still stuck in Dubai and its 0110 and I am wide awake. This is got to stop. I miss out on 1/2 the day! I am really beginning to get bored. I have been playing around with Lace fronts for the last couple of days so I decided to condition my corn rows over night.

The only thing I have available around here is Alma oil and Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Conditioner. So I applied the Conditioner all over my cornrows and ends and sealed with the Alma Oil. Next I put on one of those hotel shower caps and one of my own and a pink turbie headband thing. I will sleep like this tonight. Lets see how this Alma oil works. It supposed to keep the mind cool and promote sound sleep. :) One other thing...yall not having to deal with micros is going to be GREAT and so easy! I am praying for 2 comeback from my March 2010 setback!

To get rid off those split-ends

Coat the ends of your hair with olive oil( about 1/3 of the way up) before bed and cover ends with shower cap and shampoo next morning. Do 2 to 3 times in a week.

I know this is what we call "Baggying" but since I have cornrows in my head now and I have easy access to my ends I will baggy them like 4 or 5 times a week.

Fake Bleach LF Knots

Its 0230 in Dubai and I am WIDE awake like a mad scientist. I just re-watched a video by LACEWIGSNHAIRPRODUCTS on how to fake bleach knots on a synthetic Lace front wig. That is the best video out of all the videos on YouTube about fake bleaching knots! It is perfect for a LF newbie like me. 10 stars girl! Anyway after watching the video earlier I went and brought a can of Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs "light glow" and applied it to my First Lady "Bianca" LF wig.

Review: First Lady Bianca Color 1 Lace Front Wig

The hair is very soft and on the border line of being too shiny. The grid-line/knots are not really noticeable on this BSS LF like the Jaida LF that I was faithfully rocking. I haven't learned how to bleach the knots yet but I am studying how to on BHM, lol. I had to pull out alot of hair on the sides cause the hair line is too str8. I plan on stepping up my game on these LF's and try to get a CV....but that will be next month. This month I purchased like 15-10 BSS LF's!! I know I am crazy!

02 March 2010 Update

So you know I went the salon yesterday like a fool to get her to straighten my hair for me because I wanted to do a length check. Well ALL I asked for was a shampoo, deep con and flat iron. So as she was blow drying my hair I caught a glimpse of my length and was like WOW, I cant wait to see it all. So when she finished blow drying it I didnt see it but I heard the scissors SNIP away at the back of my hair!!! WTF?? I jumped up in the chair and looked at her she was like oh I remember last time you didnt want alot cut off.....I WANTED to say B*tch I didnt ASK for you to TOUCH my hair with scissors. Seriously I vow to myself never to step foot in her damn salon. This heffa likes to cut hair just so "her style" will look good. If you all live in Demopolis stay away from Nile Beauty Salon.

So when I got home I put on my length check shirt and my hair was damn near 2 inches shorter than the time I marked it in Dec. I was mad as hell but I did it to myself I should just learn how to do str8in my own hair. Here is a quick video:

So this morning instead of going to my smart lipo checkup appointment I decided to call to see if the lady could shampoo and deep condition my hair. I just knew she was going to say no but she said yes. My appointment was at 0930 and I stayed 15-2 mins away and at the time it was 0845.....ANNNDDD I needed to shower and take down my cornrows. So I showered ate a quick breakfast and decided to go to my appointment anyway with the cornrows in. When I got there she was like oh you are going to have to take those down, lol! So she gave me a comb and I got to work. When I was almost finished the Shampoo girl told me to come to the chair and she started helping me. I thought that was so nice of her and she didnt rip through my hair like a fool she was very gentle. Thank god cause Im tender headed and its been since Aug 09 since my last relaxer. Anyway she know she is going to get a good tip.

It's raining cats and dogs outside so once she straighten it I will just get her to wrap it so I can go home and do a length check. I will post updates later on today. :)
