Detangling Hair Made Easy Using Cowboy Magic

Length Check Sneak Peak!

I decided to flat iron a small section of the front of my hair because I was so desperate to see it. I am still debating if I want to relax it or just get it professionally straightened. I tried to straighten it good but it was a FAIL because the roots are still fluffy. But I can still see the length, however its amazing how much thinner our hair gets when we straightened previously relaxed hair....If you want to see how this section of hair looked like before I flat ironed it, click here.

Detangler for Hair (Relaxed Hair) Using Cowboy Magic (8 Months Post Relaxer) Pic's Inside

Detangler for Hair (Relaxed Hair) Using Cowboy Magic (8 Months Post Relaxer)

My Last relaxer was February 2011 and sad to say I have BARELY detangled my hair for this 8 month period. I have only washed my hair in my "granny" braids and kept it moving.  So tonight I decided I needed to detangle my relaxed hair before I started growing some real "rasta dreadlocks!" Though I have some great experience with one product for detangling my hair it still required a lot of extra work for me to detangle my relaxed hair completely.
So I found some of my cowboy magic I purchased for detangling my lace wigs and said what the hell and decided it wouldn't hurt to try it because I was in search for that perfect detangler for hair. I am GLAD I did! This has to be the BEST hair detangler I have ever used. It's like it melted the matted hair and tangled sections and allowed me to EASILY comb through them with very little hair loss. I expected some hair loss due to dead hair and shedding because I barely combed my hair for 8 months. ( I know sad).
One things I like about Cowboy Magic is that it does not have alcohol or water in it! I know odd right. But when my hair is matted water makes it dred more and alcohol just sounds like it will not help, lol. This stuff is slippery and smells good. Its a little greasy but my intentions were to wash my hair after using the product so it didn't matter. It says to use a nickel size amount but I noticed the more I used the better.
Sadly to say it took me from around 830pm until 0115am to finish detangling all my hair. My hair has gotten thicker and longer so I really took my time and worked each section. Since I was lazy and did not feel like washing it at 0115am...I placed two bonnets on my head and went to sleep. It says on the bottle it is great for conditioning so I will see how much softer my hair feels later in the morning.  Here are some pictures of my Ms. Celie roots, lol.
This the the dead / matted hair.

Look at how thick my ends have gotten. I hope after I straighten my hair it all looks thicker at the ends.

Deep Wavy 10 Inch Full Lace Wig

Short lace wigs have to be my favorite because they just look believable to me. :) I had to stray way from that yaki lace wig I had been wearing since I left Iraq because it was getting old so I decided to pull out this unit from one of my favorite vendors. Check the details of this unit in the description box below the video on YouTube. :)

My 1st Ombre on Full Lace Wig

So last night I finally decided to try the "ombre" method on my full lace wig from purchase at My Little Secrets  Boutique. I wasn't a fan of the black hair so I thought I could spice it up a little. So I purchased the Dark and Lovely Color Honey Blonde
On the box it says the product is "true" to color but that is a LIE. I started applying the color mix at 1030pm and I finally washed it out at 12 midnight! Thats how long it took for the color to change! But in the end I am happy with the results. But I am kinda unsure about the blending of the color from black to brown. It looks too...ummmm...I can't think of how to call it. But let me know you opinion pretty please. :)

How to Keep Dye Color from Messing up Lace on FULL Lace Wigs

Just a quick tip:

Take vaseline and rub it onto the lace. The vaseline acts as a barrier between the hair dye and the lace. By using this method your lace wig will not leak or become ruined by the hair dye.

Relaxing the Ends of Your Lace Wig?

I was over on Youtube and AMarieLaceWigs, who is a full lace wig maker discussed how you can relax the ends of your human hair lace wigs with LYE relaxer to make them more smoother and softer. I like the concept and I am curious to try it because I want to know how well it will work with ceasing tangles on my full lace wig.
I can't wait to get home in Alabama to try it. Right now I am still in South Carolina. Another viewer also asked her does she think the relaxer will make the ends dry....Well I think it depends..... but I would treat the ends as I would my natural hair after a relaxer. I would make sure to moisturize them with something light.
Note: She recommends the Olive Oil Cream Relaxer "Professional" relaxer.

Do Yaki Textures Get Old Faster Than Silky Textures on Full Lace Wigs?

I am starting to think that yaki textures are a little to much for me to maintain. They are cute in the beginning but after a couple of washes you have to put effort into keeping them looking flat. From my experience they become more like a kinky yaki texture and become extra big after the wig is worn a lot. So I am going to venture over to the silky straight side to see what the difference is. What are you opinions? Check out this quick video I did to show an update on the straight kinky yaki I had.

Make your old, tangled wigs like New

I normally do not post other people videos on my channel but I couldn't resist. TriceyG did her THING at bringing a matted and tangle lace wig back to life! The thing that shocked me is that she only used bleach and did not use ammonia. From research I know The bleach acts as a clarifier and the ammonia as a softener to bring the unit back to life.

I called myself trying to do the bleach bath on my unit the other day. Now don't get me wrong. It came out good. The wig is softer and doesn't tangle as much, but the steps were just too tedious and I was hesitant about mixing the bleach and ammonia. So when I ran across her video I was glad to know I could possibly only use bleach. I sent her a PM about it. When she responds I will let y'all know. But check out her video to see how she completely transformed that unit!

Another Unit From My Little Secrets Online

I was kind of skeptical about the color and I should have known better but I purchased it anyway. Now I do not like the color. I really thought it was similar to the yaki wig pictured here. <--clickable link. The hair is very nice and she did a GREAT job at bleaching the knots but the hairline is thick and I do not feel like thinning it especially at my BF's momma house. Hair will be everywhere :(
Oh and I did some more cutting on the unit to make it shorter. The hair quality is great but I think I am going to stray away from yakis for a while. Overall I like My Little Secrets Online and their full lace wigs.
Here is a picture of the hair length before I cut it:

Horse Product for Detangling Lace Wigs? Cowboy Magic?

Hmmmm? I was reading over on younique lace wigs <--clickable and she suggested using this product call Cowboy Magic Detangler for Lace Wigs.
This product is made by Eqyss, the same company that manufacturer Megatek.

At the time I did not have any so I decided to take a drop of my Megatek and apply a drop on the length of my lace wig before I using my flex rods. When I took them out in the morning I did notice a "little" difference, but I am not sure because I had given my unit a "bleach bath" earlier. What are you opinions on this? I will update later.

Lace Wig Companies to Beware Of!
Well I would add Pink Lace Wigs and Sassy Secret, but if you follow my blog you will know that I  have had VERY bad experiences with both of them. If not below is a recap.

Lets start with Pink Lace Wigs:
As you know I was the first person they sent to review their full glueless lace wig back in the day. I loved their full lace wigs so much I brought I think 2 more!  One was a yaki straight full lace wig (<--Clickable Link) and the other was a deep wavy full lace wig(<--Clickable Link)  Both were nice at the time and the "parting" area was very realistic but the hairlines were a little on the thick side. After finally washing the yaki straight glueless full lace wig, the hair started to tangle REALLY bad in the nape area. I constantly had to comb it. I don't think I had trouble with shedding. But the hair finally turned into a matted mess. The cap construction on the glueless lace wig was great. Anyway, I finally stored the full glueless lace wig  in the plastic to see if I could recover the wig later.  Months later I took it out of storage and decided to trash it because it looked like a huge hair ball: See Video <--clickable link

On the Pink Lace Wig Facebook page they HAD tons of complaints about their shipping and people even complained about not getting their lace wigs!  Can you imagine the horror of paying $250 for a lace wig and never receive it? I ordered so many lace wigs from various companies that I had forgotten I ordered the deep wavy glueless full lace wig from them until it came in the mail one day. I think I ordered it in late December or earlier January and it did not come until March!
But to each its own. Just because I had a bad experience does not mean you may have one. Just be careful. I like to keep it honest with you ladies because I am not earning a penny from any company.

What sad about the whole story is Pink Lace Wigs could have had so much business if they were trained on customer service and actually listened to their customers.

Now on to Sassy Secret...they have GREAT lace wigs and the hairlines are realistic but their customer service SUCKS. That is my only complaint. I remember I ordered the wrong full lace wig and I called them to cancel the order. The Sassy Secret representative on the phone was like WHY DO YOU WANT TO CANCEL, YOU CANT GET NOTHING ELSE? And the heffa had the audacity to say it with an attitude. Eventually I may go back to them but their prices are ridiculous! But in the end you pay for what you get!

I hope this post has been helpful to some. :)

5 (Five) Ways To Use Amla Oils for Hair Growth and Prevent Hair Loss

5 (Five) Ways To Use  Amla Oils?

1. Cover your head with plastic saran wrap or a plastic shower cap, and leave the oil in your hair overnight. Make sure you apply a bonnet on top of the shower cap to keep the oil from draining onto your pillow case. When you wake in the morning immediately shower  and wash out the mixture thoroughly.  Rinse with cool water

2. If you choose not to do the overnight method, take a drop of the alma oil and massage the mixture into your scalp. You do not have to rinse it out. If you are worried about the woody smell of the alma oil, mix it with a little coconut oil to eliminate the smell.

3. Apply to hair as an oil rinse after doing your normal shampoo and conditioner method. This will help lock in moisture to your strands.

4.  Mix the alma oil with coconut oil and apply to hair before shampooing hair to keep the hair from completely drying out from a harsh shampoo.

5. Use Amla oil as an hot oil treatment for hair. Run some hot water in the sink and sit the bottle of Amla oil in the heat for a couple of minutes or until  hot. Apply to hair and let it sit for 15-20 minutes or longer if you prefer. Rinse

Other Uses of Amla:
As an oil, Amla Oil  is also used for Sleep and Memory. As such, it keeps the mind cool and promotes sound sleep. It is also considered a great product for increasing memory!
An a powder, Amla strengthens the body, expel toxins from the body and improves defense mechanism of the body.
It is an essential vitamin to improve one's eye sight. You can wash your eyes daily, in the morning with amla water or drink the water to improve the eyesight.

Research has also shown that Amla helps lower cholesterol!

In conclusion there are so many unknown benefits of Amla and Amla oil for many functions of the human body. I am not a professional but I have done my research on the internet and this stuff checks out and is worth trying. Have you ever heard that saying that if you hear it more than once, then its probably true? :)

Amla Oil: Indian Hair Recipe / Regimen for Hair Growth to Grow Long Healthy Hair

This post is to educate women on natural beauty tips for natural hair growth! For this post, I am going to discuss Amla Oil.
Let's answer the question of: What is Amla Oil?
Amla fruit is the most well-known Indian plant and considered one of the best widely known indian hair growth products. It is reputed to be a powerful rejuvenating healing herb. It is an important ingredient in Ayurvedic medicine. Amla oil is the oldest natural hair conditioner and hair strengthener in India. As an Indian herb, amla oil has been used in India for thousand of years by women and men.

What does Amla Oil Smell Like?
Amla oil has a strong woody aroma. Mixing alma oil with coconut oil can help reduce the woody smell.

What are the benefits of Amla Oil? How does Amla Oil Grow Hair?
Amla Oil enriches hair growth and increases the strength of hair follicles thus preventing hair-fall / loss. Having healthy hair follicles is the base or foundation to grow hair faster. Some specialized cells at the base of hair follicle interact with adult epidermis to induce the development of new hair follicles. New hair follicles mean more hair or as my granny used to say "mo hair."
How to Use Amla Oil?
When you apply Amla oil on your scalp it has a cooling effect. Amla oil can be applied to damaged or healthy hair daily to assist in  moisture. Amla oil is often applied before shampooing to prevent dryness and it is used after conditioning the hair to replenish moisture to the hair cuticles. Amla oil can also be massaged on the scalp to stimulate blood circulation and encourage hair growth.

Buying Products Labeled for Hair Versus Directly Buying The Source!

First, let me say, I love natural beauty tips for natural hair growth! Female hair loss amongst my sisters is rising due to improper use of relaxers, curling irons and damaging hair products. Most commercial products target us by labeling their products with attracting words such as: fast hair growth, creme of nature, organic oil, longer hair faster and so on. They even mix it full of yummy fragrances. Its all just a way to lure in  the "clueless" or the "uneducated on hair." <-- Don't take that as an insult, because you know its the truth.
How many times have you been in Wal-Mart with your friend and they say, "Girl, this product smells good and it has pure coconut oil in it!" It's true! Then you look at the bottle that your friend is holding and the 1st ingredient in it is Petroleum and the second is mineral oil! You instantly know that product is not 100% pure of coconut oil! Why not just BUY a bottle of coconut oil? Why do you need to buy a "specially formulated" mixture that is labeled for hair use?
You ever heard its better to go straight to the source? LOL, Yes just buy the coconut oil out of the food section and keep it moving lol. This is also good for eliminating standing in the "hair section" of the store for 1 hour! LOL!

Review of The Curling Wand / My 1st Time Using the Curling Wand on a Full Lace Wig

This has to be the best curling iron or curling wand ever! Regular curling irons with the clamps can leave your hair with dents in them if they are used incorrectly. Even hot rollers can leave dents.  The only thing I don't like about using the curling wand is you HAVE to wear the heat resistant glove to keep from burning your fingers while holding the tip of the hair on the curling wand barrel.

The curling wand is for you if you have always had trouble using the curling wand. I have always  had trouble trying to curl my hair with the regular curling iron. I ended up with those dents in the hair from curling the hair the wrong way. Reason for the dents is due to the stupid clamp thing on regular curling irons

Some people may look at the curling wand and say "Oh, this is easy!" But it's not. It took me like 3-4 times to really get the curl to look "decent."It's not the best but I'm happy with it for now.  However, I do think its probably easier to curl hair that is longer than  12 inches. The full lace wig I am wearing now is 12 inches.

One thing I am noticing is that the curls are holding ALOT longer than when using the traditional curling iron.
