Reverted Hair: My Real Hair AFTER the Relaxer

Rare Picture Moment: My REAL hair! Yahhh!

So I quickly braided my hair after I got my relaxer a couple of weeks ago because it didn't take and it reverted on the same day! So here is a picture after I took my braids down and brushed my hair! Shrinkage is a BEAST! Also this was my 1st time using a paddle brush. I think I'm in love, lol.

Comparison of Before and After Color of Lace Front Wig - Me and my hair color ideas! :)

Yup, I am using nothing but bleach now to color my full lace wigs / lace front wigs. It beats the hell out of buying a box of hair dye that doesn't work or the color  results are not true to the color advertised on the box. I can bleach it and watch the color change and when I like  the color, I  rinse the unit. But as a disclaimer I will tell you that you have to be extra careful when coloring a lace wig. The bleach can easily loosen the knots causing the lace wig to shed. As a preventative measure I do not let the color touch anywhere near the knots unless my purpose is to bleach the knots for a natural part.

If you want to see the steps I took to color this unit see the post below for more details.

Below are before and after pictures of this lace front wig that I colored earlier. I wanted to lighten the unit up before I wore it. The curl pattern is noticeably different. I need to put some product in it, so the curls can pop.

One BIG thing I don't like about this hairline is that the hairline is thick. Its from my favorite vendor.... but I noticed on his lace front wigs he has a thicker hairline.

Coloring a Kinky Curl Full Lace Wig

I'm bored as usual in Bama. I didnt get my tooth pulled yesterday....so this morning I decided to switch up from the straight full lace wig for a minute. I took this nice golden brown front lace wig and bleached it using 50 developer and clairol cream bleach. So far so good. I am waiting on it to dry now to see the verdict of the color. I will be back to post pictures when it dry, but until then here is a wet shot.

My Natural Deep Condition Concoction - Not 1 Shed Strand of Hair

Are you tired of reading labels in the Beauty Supply store to find that RIGHT "commercial" conditioner with the RIGHT ingredients? Then you later find out it was a waste of money. Ladies I can't stress enough for your to try incorporate using at least 90% of god's natural given products.  As a result you will save so much money and the best part is you get to experiment with mixtures and not worry about the ingredients! Another benefit is that you will NEVER waste your money. What you don't use on your hair you can eat!

Anyway I said all of that to say this:

Last night I created a concoction of the items listed below to create a 100% natural deep conditioner mixture. I applied it to my dry hair that is braided in medium individual plaits. I let the mixture sit overnight.

Recipe:

- 2 organic eggs
-1/3 cup mayo
-1/4 cup spectrum virgin coconut oil
-1/4 cup Evoo
-1/2 tbs of Tee Tree oil! <--This was  BIG mistake. I poured too much by accident

Wash Time:
I rinsed it out with water and applied Miss Jessie's cleansing cream (1st time using). So far I like it but its too early to judge. I need to wait until my hair dries.
Next I applied the apogee 2 min reconstructor and let it sit on my hair for 2-4 mins and rinsed with water
Next I applied some ORS deep conditioner. I really didn't want to apply it because I would need for it to sit on my hair for like 15 mins to penetrate BUT I was NOT about to get out of the shower to get another. So it would have to do.

After Wash:
-Hand squeezed water out of my hair(plaits)
-sprayed hair (Scalp and ends) with "Taliah Waajid Protective Mist Bodifier (My 1st time using)
-Sealed ends with coconut oil. Applied a little to scalp
-Applied 1/4 tsp of castor oil to scalp and ends.

Results:
I am waiting for the hair to dry now, but overall my hair and scalp feels REALLY good! One thing I am SHOCKED at is that my hair did not  shed ONE STRAND, PIECE or drop! I still find that hard to believe but my hair caves "protein."

From Thin to Thick Hair / How to Thicken Hair

People argue that if your hair is thin it can not EVER be thick. Why? Because we are born with an amount of hair follicles. Over our life span some of those follicles can become damaged and the hair strand falls out and the follicle becomes "inactive."

Well my hair went from thin to thick…how is that possible?
I did my research and found this answer:
When your cuticles and hair follicles are properly moisturized this causes swelling in the hair shaft. This gives the appearance of thicker and fuller strands as well as adding body and volume. Ingredients such as botanicals, panthenol (Vitamin B5), proteins, keratins, silk amino acids, collagen, emollients, and vitamins aid in making the hair thick.

What are Knots on a Lace Wig? Before and After Pictures of Knots on a Lace Wig

I am a member of this Lace Wig forum and an user on there asked me a question about knots. I realized that when I started wearing lace wigs I was clueless about knots and actually thought the knots made the hair look more natural! I was SOOO wrong. Over the time I learned a lot about knots. Below is my response to the member who asked me a question and some of my pictures.

The knots are where they tie the hair hair to the lace. Some vendors like to do double knots and some like to do single knots. To me single knots look better and more natural if you are not going to bleach your knots. You can use a dab of foundation to easily hide single knots. A good way of telling if your knots are bleached is to look at your part area when you apply your lace wig. If you see a dark knot then its likely your knots are not bleached.
Here is a pic of the knots b4 I bleached them..
Here is a picture of the knots after I bleached them. The knot bleaching normally looks better but I was experimenting with different bleaching here. But you can definitely see a difference: HTH's :)

Bleaching A Full Lace Wig (Results)

Bleached Another Full Lace Wig!

Yes I am going color crazy! Part of this is coming from being BORED to death in Alabama! Yup I am a busy body! I colored this unit using bleach and I let it sit for 30-45 mins! I really like this color. I also bleached the knots at the same time. Tell me what ya think? I will post a video in a couple of days so stay tuned. :)

RPGSHOW ELS 119-s - Colored and Bleached by ME

RPGSHOW Full Lace Wig Review - ELS119-s (Colored Using Bleach)

Okay so a lonnnnng time ago I purchased another ELS119-s unit from RPGshow.com in color 3. I left it at the house while I was in Iraq so I didn't have time to wear it. Well since then I have fell in love with color! So I decided to try to color the unit using BLEACH! I was praying it didn't turn into a disaster.  When the hair is straight I can see I really messed up with trying to blend the color, but when its curled its not too noticeable...well at least I hope. :) I was going for the ombre effect, but then I changed my mind and started placing the bleach further up the hair shaft. Check out the pictures below and please tell me your opinion. Oh, I also bleached the knots! I am so proud that I am getting a handle on the knot bleaching thing. Now, y'all don't laugh at how I "tried" to curl my hair. I am still learning. (tear in eyes, lol)

I really like RPGshow units and recommend them if you want a quality unit, but I just don't care for the price. But in the end you pay for what you get 90% of the time, lol. F.Y.I  No I do not promote for them. I just want more traffic to my blog. :)

Perfect Knot Bleaching Results / Inspired Kim Kardashian Style on a Full...

I am no expert with styling hair but I saw so many videos on the Kim Kardashian hair style that  I was tempted to try it. I will go back later and curl the ends.I just wanted to try the flip thing on the sides. I did it with a flatiron. I also wanted to post this video to remind some women that you can do anything you put your mind to. I wanted to "better" my knot bleaching skills and I finally got it like I want it. The hair did not bleed through onto the hair. I stated I used WB bleach in the video but its BW. :) and 40 developer. e.

Pictures of My Blond Full Lace Wig

Lorrrdddd I know I need to sit DOWN somewhere and stop experimenting, lol. You can tell I get bored easily. Anyway here are some pictures of this 6/27 Deep Wave Full Lace Wig that I ordered a lonnnnng time ago. What are your thoughts please? Look at how different the color is in each picture???? How do I know what it really looks like???? That bottom picture is the WORST. I REALLY hope it doesn't look like that in person. The difference in the picture is for the 1st two my web cam was used and on the last one I used my Nikon 5100.

My Hair Growth Products Used on this 7 Month Hair Journey & Comparison Pictures

I have to say I have had a easy hair journey this go around. I am VERY happy with the results but my hair still needs to be nurtured for more thickness. For this new journey I am going to incorporate a daily dose of vitamins for hair growth, peppermint oil and castor oil on scalp. I feel that this is a combination from previous experience that will set me off with my next update.
My hair is a lot thicker than the picture looks on my 30 Nov 2011 update. My stylist used a Chi flatiron to straighten my hair. You can see the thickness below on the last picture. The relaxer (Designs Essential) "didn't take" as good as she wanted and I am glad it didn't because I wanted thickness, not limp hair as it looks after she used the chi.
What did I use on my hair for this journey of 7 months of not relaxing? I wore lace wigs constantly, removed them every 7 days, applied scurl to the ends of my hair, megatek to my scalp, and my favorite coconut oil to scalp and the ends of my hair. I think I detangled my hair 3-4 times during the 7 month stretch and only washed it a couple of times. That's ALL I did....was I kept it simple. My theory is you find what works for your hair and stick to it. Time is the key in growing long hair.

My Relaxer Update - 30 Nov 2011

This has to be my MOST happiest Update EVER! Here is a quick snapshot. I will upload more when I get to a faster internet connection tomorrow. :) Not BSL, but I am HAPPY with the growth! Don't laugh at me covering my 5 head, lol.

Detangling Hair Made Easy Using Cowboy Magic

Length Check Sneak Peak!

I decided to flat iron a small section of the front of my hair because I was so desperate to see it. I am still debating if I want to relax it or just get it professionally straightened. I tried to straighten it good but it was a FAIL because the roots are still fluffy. But I can still see the length, however its amazing how much thinner our hair gets when we straightened previously relaxed hair....If you want to see how this section of hair looked like before I flat ironed it, click here.

Detangler for Hair (Relaxed Hair) Using Cowboy Magic (8 Months Post Relaxer) Pic's Inside

Detangler for Hair (Relaxed Hair) Using Cowboy Magic (8 Months Post Relaxer)

My Last relaxer was February 2011 and sad to say I have BARELY detangled my hair for this 8 month period. I have only washed my hair in my "granny" braids and kept it moving.  So tonight I decided I needed to detangle my relaxed hair before I started growing some real "rasta dreadlocks!" Though I have some great experience with one product for detangling my hair it still required a lot of extra work for me to detangle my relaxed hair completely.
So I found some of my cowboy magic I purchased for detangling my lace wigs and said what the hell and decided it wouldn't hurt to try it because I was in search for that perfect detangler for hair. I am GLAD I did! This has to be the BEST hair detangler I have ever used. It's like it melted the matted hair and tangled sections and allowed me to EASILY comb through them with very little hair loss. I expected some hair loss due to dead hair and shedding because I barely combed my hair for 8 months. ( I know sad).
One things I like about Cowboy Magic is that it does not have alcohol or water in it! I know odd right. But when my hair is matted water makes it dred more and alcohol just sounds like it will not help, lol. This stuff is slippery and smells good. Its a little greasy but my intentions were to wash my hair after using the product so it didn't matter. It says to use a nickel size amount but I noticed the more I used the better.
Sadly to say it took me from around 830pm until 0115am to finish detangling all my hair. My hair has gotten thicker and longer so I really took my time and worked each section. Since I was lazy and did not feel like washing it at 0115am...I placed two bonnets on my head and went to sleep. It says on the bottle it is great for conditioning so I will see how much softer my hair feels later in the morning.  Here are some pictures of my Ms. Celie roots, lol.
This the the dead / matted hair.

Look at how thick my ends have gotten. I hope after I straighten my hair it all looks thicker at the ends.

Deep Wavy 10 Inch Full Lace Wig

Short lace wigs have to be my favorite because they just look believable to me. :) I had to stray way from that yaki lace wig I had been wearing since I left Iraq because it was getting old so I decided to pull out this unit from one of my favorite vendors. Check the details of this unit in the description box below the video on YouTube. :)

My 1st Ombre on Full Lace Wig

So last night I finally decided to try the "ombre" method on my full lace wig from purchase at My Little Secrets  Boutique. I wasn't a fan of the black hair so I thought I could spice it up a little. So I purchased the Dark and Lovely Color Honey Blonde
On the box it says the product is "true" to color but that is a LIE. I started applying the color mix at 1030pm and I finally washed it out at 12 midnight! Thats how long it took for the color to change! But in the end I am happy with the results. But I am kinda unsure about the blending of the color from black to brown. It looks too...ummmm...I can't think of how to call it. But let me know you opinion pretty please. :)
